In 2012, Waitrose approached Grand Union to redesign their website. A team of five UX architects were handed the task of tackling this by setting up eight parallel-running key UX workstreams. We used Axure to create a shared project and delivered Hi-Fidelity wireframes, an interactive prototype – which we used to demonstrate the site’s new functionality – and a 250 page functional specifications document.

We led numerous on-site workshops with the clients and the third party integrator where we gathered and prioritised requirements, ran brainstorming sessions where we shared in-depth analysis of their competitors and other best-in-class examples, and finally held open sessions with the client allowing them to feed their thoughts directly into the UX.
